Yosemite Snowshoeing to Dewey Point from Badger Pass is a classic California winter trek. In March two friends and I enjoyed a bluebird weekend enjoying the views above Yosemite Valley. Enjoying Yosemite backcounty in winter without many crowds is a treat. I highly recommend this very reasonable 6 mile round trip journey.
Starting out from parking lot.
We followed the snow covered Glacier Point Road to the Dewey Point Meadow Trail turn off. Navigation was straightforward since no fresh snow covered tracks. The route traversed through open meadows and forest to the rim of the Yosemite Valley.
After setting up camp South of Dewey Point toward Crocker Point, we could relax and watch the sunset over Yosemite Valley.
Mark is digging the platform for the kitchen with a view.
Ready for a quiet and chilly night.
Waking up early to watch the sunrise.
We packed up camp and time to head back to the car near Badger Pass.
We’re taking one last view toward Crocker Point.
